Mission Statement: It has always been the mission of King Sailfish Mounts to encourage Marine Conservation through the promotion of Release Mounts. We encourage sportsmen to release their trophy catch alive, and to commemorate their angling experience with a replica of their actual fish.
Inspired by accomplished artists, King Sailfish Mounts was started in 1991 by an enthusiastic Raymond Douglas. Acquiring the basic technology from his colleagues at the Jamar Wildlife Studio, Douglas immediately began to acquire his own skills for specimen gathering, molding, casting, and the painting of various species of local gamefish. A runaway commercial success, KSM quickly added key personnel from the once well-recognized Pflueger Marine Taxidermy and J. T. Reese Taxidermy studios. Now, over 16 years later, King Sailfish Mounts has grown to be a world-class producer of Release Mounts and a solid leader in Marine Conservation, while continuing to challenge the industry with state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
King Sailfish's repertoire includes all species of Marine Gamefish Mounts, and is endorsed by both The International Game Fish Association and The Billfish Foundation. King Sailfish Mounts has recently had the distinction of being featured on Mark Sosin's Saltwater Journal, ESPN2's "George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing", and Versus Network's "Sportfishing Magazine", Henry Wasczcuk's Fishin the Flats, and Alex Suescun's Tarpon Bay Tales, and has been featured in recent articles by Doug Olander of Sportfishing Magazine, Dave Ferrell of Marlin Magazine and George Poveromo of Saltwater Sportsman Magazine.
